We offer you a very interesting tour, one you will never forget, and it will be in the stories you tell your friends and family.

This Puerto Viejo culture tour will take you to one of the Bri Bri villages where you will be welcomed and taught how to make chocolate before visiting the Talamanca Waterfalls to go swimming. This tour is popular because it provides an opportunity to interact personally with members of Costa Rica’s indigenous culture and discover the beautiful natural environment where they live. Plus you will learn how to make chocolate from the cacao bean and do plenty of tasting!

One of the last Bri Bri reserves in the country is located in Talamanca. You will be picked up from your hotel and brought to the reserve where the indigenous people will open their doors and invite you in to learn from their culture.

You will be visiting the village called Watsi. Here you will meet five generations working together to maintain a vibrant community. These Native Americans still follow many of their ancient traditions, living in balance with their natural surroundings. You will see how they cook, lead their every day lives, prepare medicinal plants and produce chocolate.

Did you know that real cacao is chock full of cancer-fighting antioxidants and contains a large concentration of vitamins and minerals? You will learn about this and more during the unique chocolate-making workshop in which you will be participating.

After you make chocolate and taste many forms of it, you’ll hike through a well maintained rainforest trail with your bilingual guide leading you to the breathtaking Talamanca Waterfall. Bring your bathing suit to jump into the crystalline pool or feel free to just sit at the water’s edge and admire the lush tropical surroundings.

Your group will stop to eat a meal of traditional Costa Rican food typically consisting of meat, fish or a vegetable choice, beans and rice, finely chopped “pico de gallo” salsa, tortillas and various garnishes. The meal also includes a beverage. At the end of the tour you will be driven back to your hotel.

Day 6.

Today after breakfast you could have the option of an exhilirating journey through the jungle treetops! No doubt you will love it!

Once we have picked you up from your hotel and after having formed a group in our main office, we will head towards the farm (Carbón 1) which is located 30 minutes away from Puerto Viejo.

The transportation unit will drop you off at the operation base, where you will find the first platform and after 2 cables we will enjoy one of the most spectacular cable sections (285 meters length, 80 meters altitude) that will take us to the heart of the jungle from where we will begin a guided hike with one of our naturalist guides.

The guide will teach you about the flora and fauna of the primary forest, and the use of these plants by the indigenous people. After the hike, we will reach another platform and continue our adventure. Our Canopy consists of 9 aerial platforms and 13 ground platforms, with a total of 2760 meters of cable. Once we reach the seventh platform, we will not touch the ground again until the end of the route, crossing and viewing the jungle as birds do. In order to be completely immersed in the jungle surroundings, we have replaced the former steel cables with cables made out of carbon fiber in this particular part of the jungle.

These cables are of the latest technology with the quality of being completely silent, thus avoiding noise pollution in the jungle. Our naturalist guide will continue explaining the environmental curiosities that surround us. In one of the sections of the aerial route, we will have the opportunity to descend from the platform to the ground with the Tarzan swing or with the last canopy cable. Finally, we will begin our return, saving the 2 most spectacular cables for last. Once we arrive back to the farm, you will be served fruit and water in our resting area before we return to your hotel.

Add another bit of adrenaline and be sure to try our SUPERMAN cable. You will glide through a 300 meters cable flying like the famous superhero.
